Oakhill & Abbey Veterinary Centre

Dog-Training4u is pleased to introduce our referral vets Oakhill & Abbey Veterinary Centres. Found in the heart of Lancashire, their long established practices provide caring, compassionate and professional care for all creatures great and small. Oakhill & Abbey have four centres, a mixed practice based in Goosnargh, Preston (where we hold the dog training classes) and three dedicated small animal centres, Oakhill at Kirkham and two Abbey centres in Fulwood.
As a dog trainer, I see how important it is to keep your dogs healthy and that’s why it is essential to be registered with a vet who can not only look after your pet when it is sick but who can also help with preventative care and advice. At Oakhill and Abbey although they spend a large amount of time treating sick and injured pets, they are also very proactive in encouraging preventative health measures and their qualified, experienced vets and nurses can offer advice on most aspects of your pet’s lifestyle. These advisory health care services include nurse health checks, pet health programs and pet passports and exports.
A note from Oakhill
"At Oakhill and Abbey we are proud of the facilities and services that we can offer our clients.
Our small animal centres are fully equipped with modern operating equipment and large cattery and kennel areas for hospitalisation of in-patients. Our small animal vets are constantly updating their knowledge and we are now offering some of the latest techniques in surgery including the Modified Maquet Procedure [MMP], the latest and probably most successful procedure in treating Cruciate rupture in Dogs.
If you own a horse, our mixed practices semi-rural location has allowed us to develop an extensive site which includes nine indoor stables, four large turn-out paddocks, and a purpose built trot up and lunging arena. We offer extensive diagnostic and treatment services that include Lameness Work Ups, Gastroscopy, Shock Wave Therapy, Artificial Insemination and Stud Work, Routine and Advanced Dentistry and Ultrasound.
We also provide veterinary care for a large number of farms across Lancashire. These include large dairy farms, extensive beef herds and sheep flocks, and a number of pig units. Our aim is to provide the highest standard of emergency care for sick and injured stock, but we also put great emphasis on routine herd health, preventative medicine and husbandry of stock."
